The University of Macau (UM) recently held a “2012 International Fair: Reach out, from UM!” activity in order to familiarize students with its international networks. UM’s Vice Rector (Academic Affairs) Prof. Simon Ho said that in recent years UM has launched a series of globalization strategies aimed at enhancing students’ global mindset, knowledge and cultural competence.

Prof. Ho said that in response to an increasingly globalized society, UM has launched a series of globalization strategies in recent years, which include enhancing students’ global mindset, knowledge and cultural competence, strengthening UM’s strategic partnerships with major universities and institutions around the world, encouraging staff and students to address pressing global issues as world citizens, increasing overseas mobility and international competitiveness of the graduates and current students, as well as enhancing UM’s visibility and impact on the global map.

UM has always encouraged students to seize international exchange opportunities to learn how to get along with people with diverse cultural backgrounds and to broaden knowledge and horizons.
