Today (22 August) is the first day of the new academic year of the University of Macau (UM). Rector Wei Zhao sat in on some of the classes and had lunch with students from two residential colleges. The various faculties, residential colleges and administrative departments worked hard to prepare for the start of the new semester. The Academic Affairs Office made meticulous classroom arrangements. The Student Affairs Office and the residential colleges organised various activities. A series of orientation sessions and information seminars were also held before the start of the new semester to prepare the students for their life on campus. Rector Wei Zhao said UM is committed to creating a vibrant and healthy campus culture conducive to the students’ academic and personal growth. He expressed his hope that faculty and students would strive for more breakthroughs in the new academic year.
