208 teams from 133 higher education institutions in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and mainland China participated in this year’s competition, whose theme was “Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Wealth”. It is the first time that UM has been invited to represent Macao at this competition. UM team was comprised of HC Class of 2015 students Ho Cheong Seng, Ao Meng Chi and Leong Ka Weng from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Xiao Han from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as Zhao Wanying from the Faculty of Education.

Members of the team say that participants were required to accomplish a series of tasks, including making proposals and designing posters and booths, within a relatively short period of time, which required the participants to use their expertise and work together, and that they are very pleased that they won the second runner-up award.

This year’s competition was co-organised by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China as well as the government of Wuxi city. In addition to providing a platform for students to showcase their creativity, the event also wishes to arouse the students’ interest in the service industry utilising modern technology, and to encourage universities to foster more talented people for the service outsourcing industry.
