Zhang Meifang, a professor from the Department of English and coordinator of the MA Programme in Translation Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Macao (UM), has been appointed co-editor-in-chief of Babel:  International Journal of Translation. Prof Zhang began to serve in the position from January 2017.

Babel is published for the International Federation of Translators (FIT). It is peer reviewed and indexed in: Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI) ; Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) ; CNKI ; Current Contents/Arts & Humanities ; Current Contents/Social and Behavioral Sciences ; ERIH PLUS ; IBR/IBZ ; Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences ; Linguistic Bibliography/Bibliographie Linguistique ; Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA) ; MLA Bibliography ; Scopus ; Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI); Social Scisearch ; and Translation Studies Bibliography (TSB). Babel is the most popular journal of its kind among translators, interpreters, and translation scholars in the globe.

Prof Zhang previously co-edited a special issue of Target: International Journal of Translation Studies(27/3, 2015),which is indexed in both SSCI and A&HCI, published by John Benjamins. She is now also co-editing a special issue of Perspectives: Studies in Translatology, which is indexed in A&HCI, published by Routledge.
