Three University of Macau (UM) members, namely Prof Haydn Chen, vice rector (students affairs) of UM; Chung Ling, master of Cheng Yu Tung College; and Paul Pang, dean of students of UM, recently visited Pui Ching Middle School. During the visit, they shared UM’s educational philosophy and the concept of the residential college (RC) system with 450 teachers and students. Vice Rector Chen gave a talk titled ‘Educated and Civilised’ and explained to the audience why UM’s RC system is an important vehicle for carrying out community and peer education.
