Talent Show over Lunch, A Feast for the Eyes and the Stomach

Earlier a friend invited me to lunch in Chao Kuang Piu College and we were lucky enough to catch the college’s weekly talent show. Participants in the talent show sang popular songs on the stage and the music in the background helped to create a relaxing ambience in the dining hall.

Chris Li, a second-year student from the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) and the organiser of the event, says that the idea of organising the talent show was inspired by a visit to Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, organised by the college earlier. ‘After the trip, we decided to create a group on WeChat for those who love to sing and arrange for them to perform in a talent show. We hope to give students an opportunity to showcase their talent while entertaining other students.’

Jay Tang, a first-year student from the FBA and a participant in the show, says ‘I was really impressed when I saw the performance of the other students. So I decided to participant in the event and sing for others.’ Woody Hoi, a student from the Faculty of Science and Technology, says that he wants to keep singing to gain more experience in the future.
