TOEIC Test Site Now Available In UM

The University of Macau’s English Language Centre (ELC) has an agreement with the Institute of International Education (IIE) in Hong Kong to function as a test site for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), one of the world’s most recognized tests of everyday and workplace English.

The TOEIC exam is intended for assessment of general English communication skills required for workplace settings. The TOEIC is used by over 5,000 organizations each year to assess the communication skills of over 4.5 million nonnative English speakers around the world. TOEIC results may be considered during the hiring process to determine a job candidate’s communication skills, as well as for job placement and promotion decision-making. In addition to TOEIC, the ELC serves as a test site for the internet-based TOEFL exam, which is intended to assess English proficiency for academic purposes .

For more information on the TOEIC or the TOEFL iBT, contact the English Language Centre at: elc.enquiry@um.edu.mo or by telephone at: +853 83978120 or 83978122.
