Prof Robert F Engle, a world-renowned economist and the 2003 Nobel laureate in economics, on 25 November spoke on the “Prospects for Global Financial Stability” at the Nobel Laureate Lecture co-organised by the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Business Administration and Asia-Pacific Academy of Economics and Management. Prof Engle shared his insights on global financial stability with over 600 people, including teachers and students from local universities and secondary schools, prominent community members, financial practitioners, government officials, and media practitioners. After the talk, UM organised a session for students to talk to Prof Engle face-to-face. The Nobel Prize winner answered questions from the students. Students said it was an invaluable opportunity to talk to Prof Engle and the talk expanded their horizons.
