UM students win six prizes at the Campus Newspaper Award 2014

Students from the University of Macau (UM) Department of Communication recently won six prizes for their publication, the 2014 spring issue of Umac Bridges, at the Campus Newspaper Awards 2014, including two first prizes in the overall design category and the news page design category, three second prizes in the campus news reporting category, the multimedia website category and the news page design (online voting) category, and one third prize in the feature writing category. Organised by the China Daily Hong Kong Edition, the competition received more than 500 entries from 26 universities in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and mainland China.

The award ceremony was held at Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 17 October. Student representatives attended the event with associate professor Wu Mei, course instructor of the publication.

UM recipients of the prizes include Susan Sou, Catherine Cheang, Ashley Hong, Stephanie Cheong, Ivy Lio, Candy Chan, Cristy Ho, Clara Yan, Ben Hoi, and Simona Chen.
