Prof. Mark Wainwright, former president and vice-chancellor of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), earlier visited the University of Macau (UM). He was warmly received by UM Rector Wei Zhao, Vice Rectors Prof. Rui Martins and Prof. Haydn Chen, and Faculty of Science and Technology Dean Prof. Philip Chen. Prof. Wainwright noted that the visit laid the groundwork for future communication between the two universities. He also praised the new campus, saying that he believes it will provide a better learning environment for the students. UM’s top management told Prof. Wainwright about the new opportunities brought by the new campus as well as the university’s future direction.

 

UNSW is a leading research and teaching university in Australia. Founded in 1949, it is a member of the prestigious Group of Eight, a coalition of Australia's leading research intensive universities.
