The University of Macau (UM) today (26 November) held an event titled “Overview of Taiwan—Chat with Veteran Media Professionals”. More than 20 members from the Taiwan chapter of the World Association of Women Journalists and Writers were invited to share their insightful views on a wide range of issues, including current events, cultural innovation, media development, health and life, and literary creation. Approximately 700 UM staff, students, local journalists, and cultural community representatives, attended the event.

The speakers visited UM’s new campus after the talk. The president of the Taiwan chapter of the World Association of Women Journalists and Writers was very impressed with the new campus, saying that UM staff and students are very fortunate to work and study on the new campus. Another speaker echoed her opinion, adding that UM students should adopt a “new way of thinking” at this “new beginning” to help improve the university’s “software” strength.
