International conference on legal reforms in Macao to open at UM

The Sixth International Conference on the Legal Reforms of Macao in Global Context – Law and the Consumer Society, which is organised by the Centre for Law Studies under the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Law (FLL), will be held on 20 November and 21 November, at the STDM Auditorium, UM Library. Scholars and experts from mainland China, Portugal, Brazil, Taiwan and Macao will attend the conference.

Scholars from the University of Coimbra, the University of Porto Alegre, Peking University, Soochow University, and UM; as well as experts from the Macao SAR government with legislative, judicial and judiciary experience will discuss a wide range of topics, including consumer protection, consumers and food safety, consumers and house purchase, consumers and the provision of tourist services, and the future of the consumer law.

The first day of the conference will last from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and the second day from 9:30am to 7:00pm. Simultaneous interpretation between Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and Portuguese will be provided. All are welcome.
