With fluent English, swift responsiveness and composed diplomatic etiquette,  Dang Hao, a postgraduate student from the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau (UM), won the first prize at a competition on the first Model Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Taiwan.

Organised by the Asia-pacific Student Entrepreneurship Society at Taiwan University, the first Model APEC attracted more than 60 students from the cross-strait region and United States tertiary institutions to participate. Participants had the opportunity to attend seminars on economic and political relations in Asia-pacific regions, model APEC conference and relevant training courses. The event was also attended by renowned political figures in Taiwan, such as Siew Wan-chang, Chiang Chi-chen, Vanessa Shih and Chiang Pin-kung.

Led by Prof. Wang Jianwei, head of the Department of Government and Public Administration, four UM students from the Youth Association of International Affairs and the Department of Government and Public Administration participated in the event.
