UM’s summer course in Portuguese language and culture still open for application

The 27th Portuguese Language and Culture Summer Course, offering classes in four levels- beginning, basic, intermediate and advance, will take place from 1 July to 26 July. The course application deadline is 24 May, interested individuals over 16 year-old are welcome.

Organised by the Department of Portuguese, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau, tuition fees of the summer course will be subsidised by the Macau Education Bureau (DSEJ) for 125 Macao students. The course will take place for a full day, covering the morning and afternoon session. The morning session will focus on the learning of the Portuguese language and culture of Portuguese-speaking countries, while the afternoon session will involve learning outside the classroom, which include folk dance class, art workshop,, museum visits, and Portuguese film sessions.

The advanced class is targeted at Portuguese language teachers, therefore, not only Portuguese language and culture will be taught at the class, grammar and teaching material creating and editing skills will be covered. The advanced class is not be covered by DSEJ subsidies, the organizer will arrange the course in accordance with the application status.
