Recently (26 March) a production crew from CCTV International, otherwise known as CCTV 9, mainland China’s only English-speaking documentary channel that broadcasts internationally, came all the way to the University of Macau (UM) to interview Prof. Li Ping from the Department of History, about his viewpoints on the history of the Northern Wei Dynasty, for their documentary about the Yungang Grottoes. “We spoke to several experts in Beijing, and they all recommended Prof. Li Ping, saying that if one has any questions about the history of the Northern Wei, Prof. Li Ping is the person to go to,” said the crew.
