The University of Macau
(UM) this year continues to organise a series of charity events to support the
Oasis Action, which aims to help children in impoverished regions or regions
affected by desertification in mainland China to go to school. One of the events
was the Round-campus Run and Happy Walk, which was held on 24 March. The
unseasonably hot weather didn’t dampen people’s determination to support the
meaningful activity. More than 200 UM students, staff, alumni and their family
members participated in the activity. UM’s Vice Rector (Student Affairs) Prof.
Haydn Chen said at the opening ceremony that this activity was organised by the
newly-established Office of Sports Affairs and was especially meaningful
because it would be the last round-campus run and happy walk held at the
current campus.
