UM PhD student receives Outstanding Paper Award at a forum for theatre, film, television and literature postgraduates in China

Yang Qingquan, a PhD student of the Department of Chinese, University of Macau (UM), received the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2012 Shanghai Postgraduate Academic Forum and the Fifth Forum for Theatre, Film, Television and Literature Postgraduates from the Yangtze River Delta Region. Organised by the Academic Committee of the Shanghai Postgraduate Academic Forum and hosted by Shanghai Theatre Academy, the forum attracted over 60 papers from renowned Chinese universities, including Nanjing University, Tongji University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and East China Normal University.

Yang Qingquan’s supervisor is Prof Zhu Shoutong, head of the Department of Chinese. Yang’s paper was highly praised by Prof Zhang Zhenhua from Fudan University, Prof Zhou An’hua from Nanjing University and Prof Li Yizhong from Shanghai Jiaotong University. Yang’s another paper has been included in a collection of papers presented at the 11th Youth Forum on Shanghai Culture, which is due to be published next year.
