PJC organizes field trip to observe Hong Kong Legislative Council Election

To let students understand more about the political system and culture of Hong Kong SAR, a group of nineteen students and academic staff from the Pearl Jubilee College (PJC) of the University of Macau (UM) organized a field trip to Hong Kong on 8 September and 9 September 2012. They observed Hong Kong’s Legislative Council Election 2012 and visited a fishing village in Tai O, Lantau Island. The group also went to the newly-launched Eslite, the first Hong Kong outlet of the renowned 24-hour bookshop in Taiwan. Students said that they gained a great deal from the two-day trip.

Before the field trip, PJC organized on 3 September a seminar on the constitutional functions, election system and agendas in this year’s Hong Kong Legislative Council Election. The visit and the seminar effectively helped students to develop an interest in social affairs.
