Chair Professor Yang Yi and the students      whose articles have been included                        in the book

Recently, the University of Macau (UM) published a book on leading Pre-Qin philosophers, consisting of nineteen articles by UM students of the Department of Chinese. Chair Professor Yang Yi, chief editor of the book, said that the articles included in the book were written by Department of Chinese students after attending the two relevant academic salons; that he found their articles to be quite refreshing and deep, so he decided to make them into a book. The authors of the articles describe the book as a “pleasant surprise”, saying that they feel deeply encouraged. They also said that Prof. Yang’s classes have helped them to understand the purpose of academic studies and how such studies can benefit one’s life.
